RE-REGISTER FOR CLASS

Introduction to Adobe Photosop CS6

Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful and versatile image editing application.  It is the industry standard software, meaning that most of the billboard advertisements, commercials, and web ads you see on a daily basis are made using the Photoshop app.  To begin, we'll get familiar with the way the app looks, and how to start out with a new project in Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Below is the interface.
When you first open the program, you'll see a large blank (dark gray area) in the center of the app.

In order to start creating, you'll need to make a new document (Command+N) or open an existing image file (Command+O).
*Unless I say otherwise, always choose Preset>US Letter for the document size.

For this first set of tasks I'll have you to copy images from the Internet, paste them onto your Photoshop document, use the move tool to rearrange and re-size the images, and save your Photoshop file for future manipulation.

Each time you copy and paste an image from the Internet, you'll create a new layer in your layers panel.

If you look closely at the layers, you'll see small versions of each picture in the icon next to the layer's name.

TASK 1 - Make a new document, and copy three pictures from the Internet. Use the Move tool to select each photo.  Take a photo of a Celebrity, a Cougar (mountain lion) and a car and composite them together on a US Letter-sized document.
